DelftX MOOCs

Massive Open Online Courses

TU Delft offers Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) under the name DelftX. TU Delft is member of the EdX Consortium, which consists of leading universities, like MIT, Harvard and Berkeley. Late 2013 the first two MOOCs have been finished succesfully. The MOOC offering still grows. For a full overview of current DelftX MOOCs please visit this DelftX Page.

What is a MOOC?

An MOOC is a Massive Open Online Course, which is freely accessible for anyone with an internet connection. Our MOOCs are strongly based on the course the way it is offered to our own students, so including homework assignments and an exam. Students who successfully complete the course receive an (informal) DelftX certificate.

Why MOOCs?

The MOOCs fit the developments of the TU Delft in the area of Open Education. The online developments are the next step for education, and MOOCs can help us to increase access to our education and to improve our existing campus education.

Why EdX?

EdX is a consortium of leading universities who all aim at improving their education on campus. Furthermore, it is important to the TU Delft that it is a non-profit organization with a strong focus on Open: an open-source platform and open-licensed content. The DelftX MOOCs can be found here.
